To show appreciation for those who serve and protect the community, the Church of God in Charlotte hosted the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Appreciation Car Wash — a special car wash event for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department on July 24, 2016.
“This is the first time that I have known of any organization to show their appreciation to this police department in this manner,” said Officer DeGeorge.
The officers admired the hard work of the Church of God volunteers, and they were amazed at how clean the cars were as a result.
“We just want to serve those who serve us. Police officers and their work are usually taken for granted. Most people don’t bother to acknowledge officers until they need their assistance, so we thought it would be great to recognize them for their efforts and for putting their lives on the line to help the community,” said one volunteer.
Some of the officers flashed their police lights and sounded their sirens for the children in the community who joined in the event and who wanted to see the cruisers in action.

It’s really good to see a church that serves the officers who serve our community, especially in times like these when there is much distrust. Every person should follow this kind of example. Kudos to the Church of God!

Wow. That’s such an amazing volunteer service to have for the police officers. They deserve it for their hard work and efforts to keep the community safe. Thanks to God that the members of the church were able to put into action their faith by letting the light of Christ shine through them. 🙂
So amazing to see a community event that can recognize police officers that serve our community. They always work so hard to help others and in this event they are able to also be given thanks for their hard efforts. They look so happy! Wow. That is so selfless and kind to do something as seemingly small for the security and protection force. Though it may appear minute, I hope that those that benefited from it receive comfort and easement, seeing that there are still people that care for one another and gives love back to the community.
This is so beautiful! The officers serve their coimmunity so diligently. When the members took their own time to serve these hardworking men and women, with a heart full of love, I am sure they were touched. What a gracious event! God bless you!

Another amazing event carried out by the Church of God! It was great to see all the support shown to our local police community. Not to say that it was also a really fun event! Looking forward to more events like these.
I really admire organizations which conduct community service activities for the improvement of their communities and the relationships with fellow citizens. It takes a lot of devotion and selflessness, so when I came across this event from the World Mission Society Church of God, I had 2 words to sum up the people of that church. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!
I have been to many other churches and organizations however this church seems to really follow the word of God by giving rather than receiving. So, even though I was walking by, I just had to join in on their community service event. They worked hard all day washing the cars of the local police. That in itself is a very good deed however what warms me up is that they didn’t do it reluctantly. They did it with smiles on their faces the whole time. They actually enjoyed performing hard work for the community. The police protect the community and risk their lives and are not really thanked but this church thought it appropriate to give thanks, not only from their mouths but also from their hearts with action.
I really haven’t come across an organization like them before especially in a church. Apparently they do various other types of community service activities all over the world. I really hope they receive proper recognition as they worked so well together as a cohesive, happy unit and gave all thanks to God. I definitely hope to join in on their future community service activities and I petition anyone else who hears about the World Mission Society Church of God to join in on their community service activities as well so that you can see what I saw!!!

People who are in public servant positions really do not get recognized enough. The police in Mecklenburg County must be so thankful. Church of God members really put the teachings of Christ into practice. Keep doing God’s work, you are amazing!
Thanks to God of Elohim for allowing us the opportunity to carry out this activity. The hard work of police officers truly goes unnoticed and we all appreciate it. Our Father and Mother are now allowing us to play the role of spiritual policemen fighting against lawlessness and establishing justice on earth through God’s law. Thank you and we love you.
Not only do they work hard in the communities in which they worship, but they also acknowledge and award the hard work of others in their communities.
A simple “thank you” travels miles and miles… The community lacks sincere events from organizations and churches today. It is refreshing to see church members work with unity and joy to serve others.
