With the mind to save lives, the Church of God in Charlotte offered love from their hearts and blood from their veins. Church members participated of the 695th Worldwide Blood Drive to Give Life Through the Love of the Passover. The donors from the Church of God came together as one cohesive unit to aid those in need of life-saving blood.
Typically, blood donations decrease during the warmer months, which causes a greater need for blood. Recognizing the great need for blood at this time, members gathered together on a clear Sunday morning. Preparing for the event, they anticipated the arrival of the Mobile Blood Donation vehicle from the Community Blood Center. The members were excited to roll up their sleeves to donate. And everyone had bright smiles on their faces. Moreover, even the fear of being poked with a needle diminished as the members yearned to help save lives.
“Wow, this is just great,” said Chris, an employee from the Community Blood Center. “We would like to thank you guys for hosting this event.”
The volunteers prepared weeks in advance for the event, inviting co-workers, neighbors and friends to give blood. As a result, the turnout was fantastic. The Mobile Blood Donation vehicle seemed to always be overflowing with donors anxious to give their blood.
“This isn’t just a day to donate blood, this is a day when many lives will be saved,” said one of the blood donors. “A day is just another day for some people, but for other people, a day is the renewal of their life, so I just want to do my part in helping to renew that life!” said another Church member and donor.
“You guys are international right? You do a lot of community service activities! This is awesome,” said Liliana Burdette, one of the donation recruiters from the Community Blood Center. “I often participate in community service activities on my own when I’m not working with the Community Blood Center so I would love to join you guys in the future when you carry out other activities for the community.”
Thankfully, the World Mission Society Church of God garnered enough blood donations to save more than 80 lives. Meanwhile, the members of the Church of God in Charlotte were overjoyed to be a part of the 695th Worldwide Blood Drive to Give Life Through the Love of the Passover. Thank you, Church of God members and all who participated! Giving blood is something everyone can do, but only a few people choose to. Donating enough blood to save 80 lives in our community is an amazing accomplishment. “Love your neighbor as yourself” is truly embodied at the World Mission Society Church of God!
Wow this is so amazing that people are helping to donate blood. Many people need help and this is so great that people are willing to do it. The Church of God is doing a great job for setting an example.
Truly impressed by the dedication of all the members of this church. These people are always willing to help and serve others. By looking there example I can see the teachings of God. Keep up the good work you always do.
Amazing! I’m so happy to see the Church of God hosting a blood drive. Many people have no idea how many lives 1 pint of blood and a few minutes of your time can save! Way to go Church of God 🙂
It’s great to do this kind of good thing. So good deeds for members of community. A few weeks ago, I did this thing in my country.
