The World Mission Society Church of God is a non-denominational Christian church with more than 7,000 locations and 2.7 million registered members in 175 countries. In North Carolina, the Church of God is located in Charlotte and Durham.
Looking back two millennia, Jesus Christ Himself founded the Church of God under one particular set of teachings, one truth, namely the gospel of the new covenant. Nowadays, however, there are at least 850 distinct Christian denominations, each having a different doctrine than the other. The fact that there is no single correct way to follow Christ, as there was 2,000 years ago, leaves people confused in regards to the true and biblical way to serve Christ. According to the Bible, Christ is to come a second time (Hebrews 9:28) with a new name (Revelation 3:12) to restore the pure teachings He originally gave to the Early Church.
Christ Ahnsahnghong founded the World Mission Society Church of God in 1964. Since its establishment, it has become a ray of hope for those yearning for Christ’s original teachings. The World Mission Society Church of God observes the day of rest (Sabbath) on Saturdays. It also observes the seven feasts of God (Leviticus 23), including the Passover of the New Covenant (Matthew 26:17), which Jesus Himself celebrated with His disciples.
In the last half century, the Church of God has experienced consistently rapid growth. Members actively delve into the Scriptures to receive their teachings directly from Christ. Combining these teachings with their faith, members take the lead in numerous volunteer activities around the globe.
Most recently, the Church of God in Charlotte hosted a donation drive to help Louisiana flood victims. And prior to that, they organized a Police Appreciation Car Wash.
Countless government officials and prestigious organizations have recognized the Church of God for the positive effects it has had on society. Additionally, members make efforts to reach out to thirsty souls longing for eternal life (Revelation 22:17).
